Graha Avastha
How a Planet Feels in Your Chart
Not all planets perform equally. A planet's avastha(state of being) determines how much of its promise it can actually deliver. Two systems measure this: Balaadi tracks the planet's age by degree, and Deeptaadi tracks its dignity by sign placement.

Balaadi Avastha
The Age of the Planet
Based on the planet's degree within its sign. A planet at 15° (Yuva) is at peak strength, like a young adult in prime. A planet at 28° (Mrita) is functionally dead. The middle of the sign is always the strongest position.
Deeptaadi Avastha
The Dignity of the Planet
Based on the planet's relationship with the sign it occupies. A planet in exaltation (Deepta) blazes with confidence. A planet in debilitation (Khala) acts against its own nature. The sign determines the planet's emotional state.
Why Avasthas Matter
Two people can have the same planet in the same house, but if one planet is in Yuva avastha (peak strength) and the other is in Mrita (dead), the life experience will be dramatically different.
Avasthas explain why generic “planet in house” predictions sometimes feel wrong. The stateof the planet modifies everything. It's the difference between a CEO who is 30 and energetic versus one who is retiring and disengaged.
