Gochar
Your birth chart is the blueprint. Transits are the weather. The planets never stop moving, and as they pass through different signs, they activate different chapters of your life story.

Essential Concepts
Beyond individual planets: the frameworks that Vedic astrologers use to time events with precision.
Gochar means 'movement of planets in real time.' While your birth chart is fixed, transits overlay the current sky onto your natal positions, activating dormant promises and timing events.
Each planet accumulates bindus (points) from other planets in each sign. When a planet transits a sign where it has high bindus (5-8), results are favorable. Low bindus (0-2) bring struggle. This quantifies transit quality.
Saturn's 7.5-year passage over your natal Moon (12th, 1st, 2nd houses from Moon). The most significant long-duration transit in Vedic astrology. Not always negative; its impact depends on Saturn's natal strength, Moon's sign, and running dasha.
When both Jupiter and Saturn simultaneously aspect a house (by transit), that house's promise gets activated. This double-transit theory is a powerful timing tool: marriage, career changes, and major events often align with it.
Solar and lunar eclipses near your natal planets or angles trigger dramatic shifts within a 6-month window. The nodes (Rahu-Ketu) define eclipse seasons. Eclipse conjunct natal Sun/Moon/Ascendant is one of the most potent triggers in predictive astrology.
Even a favorable transit can be blocked if another planet occupies its vedha point. For example, Jupiter in the 2nd is excellent, unless a planet transits the 12th (its vedha). This fine-tunes transit predictions beyond simple house analysis.
